‘Scrutinising Local Health Delivery: Parameters, Priorities and Partnerships’

Since the beginning of 2003, local authorities have had new responsibilities for scrutinising local health service provision on behalf of their communities. The development and implementation of these new arrangements has seen different examples of health scrutiny begin to emerge across the UK.
Hosted by the New Local Government Network (NLGN) and supported by The Centre for Public Scrutiny, this one-day national conference will focus on the experiences of those charged with the new responsibilities; providing an opportunity for local authorities, local health service providers and other stakeholders to consider the practical implications of the challenges of local health scrutiny. In a keynote address to the conference the Health Minister, Rosie Winterton MP will outline the Government’s approach to this major aspect of health service reform.
