‘The future of local government online: Delivering Service Improvement, Promoting Client Led Demand’

E-government is vital for the future delivery of local services. Yet building a framework that can both deliver the best possible IT services is a complex process, demanding excellence in project management from local authorities as well as multi-partnership working among key local stakeholders.
One year on from the Government’s launch of the ‘National Strategy for Local e-Government’, this one-day conference – hosted by NLGN and supported by the ODPM – offers the opportunity to assess the progress made towards meeting the 2005 e-government deadline. In a keynote address to the conference, Local government minister, Phil Hope MP will highlight the range of support available to help local authorities meet their targets.
