London Calling: reflections on four years of the GLA and solutions for the future is a new NLGN collection of essays by 15 authors representing different areas of London’s governance and stakeholder scene: including the GLA, the Mayor’s office, the Corporation of London, the Boroughs, the London Development Agency, the business and voluntary sectors, academia, pollsters MORI and the media.
Offering their take on the changes brought about since the creation of the GLA and the London mayoralty, the authors paint a generally positive picture while revealing why it has not always been easy for them to work with the new institutions. With the 2004 mayoral elections fast approaching, the approvals, criticisms and indeed solutions contained in the essays will help to shape the long-term future of London governance.
Embargoed press copies of the report will be available shortly.
