Conference and Publication launch: The New Wave of Local Partnerships

In a pressured environment of efficiency targets and budget restrictions, the challenge for councils is not only to become more efficient but to do so while also tackling the more complex aspects of local delivery: user choice, economic regeneration, community engagement and social inclusion.



Hosted by the New Local Government Network (NLGN), this one-day conference will examine the range of partnership options available, and explore how best to be proactive in tackling problems inherent in delivering effective local government. The conference will also see the launch of NLGN’s major new report, New Ways to Modernise – a year long study reflecting on the experiences of 24 local authorities engaged in various forms of partnership and collaboration, and offering detailed recommendations for the future of partnership agenda.
