A new approach

2005 will see a new approach to Comprehensive Performance Assessment for all local authorities. This next wave of CPA
will be delivered under a new methodology, as published by the Audit Commission.



This NLGN national conference will look at the new methodology and offer delegates the opportunity to explore in detailhow it will effect service and corporate assessments.



The conference will consider key issues facing all local authorities (district and unitary alike) as well as other local services due for inspection, i.e. Fire and Rescue Services. Issues to be discussed include: improving CPA performance and how to use strategic regulation to best advantage; inspection overload and how to avoid it; bringing judgments together; peer support and bringing together service partners to improve assessment results. It will also look at the lessons learnt from the CPA pilot authorities and discuss current consultations from the Audit Commission on the future of CPA beyond 2005.
