Jane Roberts has an extensive background in medicine and local government. Jane was a councillor for the London Borough of Camden for 16 years, and served as Leader of the Council from 2000 until 2005.
Professionally, Jane is a medical doctor specialising in child and adolescent psychiatry, and Director of Quality and Performance at Islington Primary Care Trust. Jane was appointed DBE in 2004 for services to local government. She became Chair of the charity Parenting UK in 2006 and serves as Chair of the Councillors Commission since 2007. Most recently, she has been a member of the Gilbert Teaching and Learning Review 2020 and was appointed a Director of Ofsted. She is also a trustee of the Institute of Public Policy Research and a Consultant for Warwick Business School. Jane has authored a number of academic papers in paediatrics and psychiatry, as well as being co-editor of and contributor to book “The Politics of Attachment” (1996) and many articles about local government.
