This seminar will feed into a research report NLGN is carrying out with the help of City of London, the Northern Way and Grant Thornton which aims to set out a route map for local capital finance for the next decade and beyond. The aim of the seminar is to look at new approaches to the financing of infrastructure and regeneration schemes. A central line of debate will be which financial delivery models can help lead local authorities to a more autonomous footing in terms of capital finance. We will also discuss new models of procurement that could be offered as an alternative to the PFI, and ways the private sector can be incentivised to invest in regeneration and infrastructure schemes.
