Join us at Canary Wharf for the launch of “Capital Contingencies: Securing local capital investment in an era of high public debt”. The report seeks to analyse the difficulties facing local authority capital investment programmes and make a series of recommendations that will help tackle these. In addition, it will look at how the relationship between central and local government could be rethought to enable more locally-driven investment in the light of the recession.

The event will be a panel discussion, beginning with a brief presentation from Tom Symons, lead researcher, about the key findings and recommendations. The panel will then be invited to say a few words before a question and answer session, followed by a short drinks reception.
