What kind of leaders does local government need over the coming decade?
In this new localist era there is a clear need to be innovative and think outside the box. The leadership we need will not come solely from within the public sector – with the drive towards commissioning and the big society, local government will also need to draw upon, and learn from, the best of the private and voluntary sectors.
This session will bring together inspiring leaders from all three sectors to discuss the challenges ahead – including the need for commercial and entrepreneurial skills, the ability to lead and construct ecosystems, to establish new roles for political leadership and the new demands that cuts and evolving models will place on officials.
