Comment: Responding to the predicted voter turnout for the Police and Crime Commissioner elections
15 November, 2012

In response to the anticipated low voter turnout at today’s Police and Crime Commissioner elections NLGN’s Director Simon Parker said:

“Relatively low turnout shouldn’t be taken as a lack of interest in localising power. The government hasn’t really spent much political capital on promoting the Police and Crime Commissioner role, this begs the question, if the government can’t get excited why should we expect local communities to behave any differently?”
