NLGN Conferences are significant events in the public policy calendar year and an excellent opportunity to set out the political agenda for the year ahead, bringing together senior local government stakeholders, representatives from the private sector and key thought leaders.
Building on our track record of leading the debate on public sector commissioning, with major research reports published in 2009, 2010 and last year, this conference will support our ongoing research project on the future shape of commissioning. The day will explore the current context for commissioning from the perspective of all partners, before building into a comprehensive discussion of what effective commissioning – providing local government gets it right – can really achieve.
Confirmed speakers include:
Nick Bell, Chief Executive, Staffordshire County Council
Gavin Jones, Chief Executive, Swindon Borough Council
Andrew Muter, Chief Executive, Newark and Sherwood District Council
John Seddon, Managing Director, Vanguard Consulting
Andy Bagnall, Head of Public Service Reform, CBI
Robert Saunders, Team Leader, Local Government Commissioning and Local Data, Communities and Local Government
Catherine Staite, Director, Institute of Local Government Studies
James Allen, Head of Public Services and Partnerships, NCVO
