The way that councils work with colleagues in the NHS and other public bodies to redesign spending and services will be critically important to establishing the new architecture of public health. Embedding Health provides a clear sense of how councils are starting to use their new responsibilities coming from the Health and Social Care Act to align services, within and beyond the authority and to provide effective systems leadership.
The report will detail the approaches that councils are taking to make the most of the opportunities for local government in its new public health role. The launch will feature a discussion of the report’s themes and conclusions featuring a range of stakeholders including Jane Ellison MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health and Cllr Ernie White, Leader of Blaby Council and Leicestershire County Council Lead Member for Health.
