NLGN’s new report on the implications for local government of the next spending review, ‘Gaming the cuts,’ will launch on the 16th April.
The launch will include a discussion featuring leading local government stakeholders, including:
Sir Merrick Cockell, Chair, Local Government Association
Patrick White, Director, Local Government Policy, Department for Communities and Local Government
James Blake, Chief Executive, St Albans City and District Council
Jane Robinson Chief Executive, Gateshead Council
The Audit Commission has commended local authorities for their management of the Comprehensive Spending Review so far. However, there are no more quick wins for councils. Radical thinking is required. NLGN has therefore looked to the future, using national policy forums to scenario plan and address a number of key questions including where will spending reductions fall and which services will be prioritised?
