Our keynote speaker will be Stephen Allott, the Crown Representatives for SMEs at the Cabinet Office, and Gerry O’Connell from Tata Consultancy Services will be making some introductory remarks.
This roundtable will focus on how small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) can win contracts in the public sector in a rapidly changing environment, and specifically, on how local authorities may help businesses in their communities to win more contracts.
It will cover:
- The challenges that SMEs may experience in winning and delivering tenders in the public sector, and how local authorities can work with SMEs to overcome those challenges.
- The changes to procurement from a central government perspective and how local authorities can best communicate those to SMEs in their area
- The role of innovation and technology in enabling SMEs to access more business opportunities in the public sector.
