The Spending Review Revue: What does it mean for local government?

In order to analyse the impact of the Chancellor’s Spending Review on 25th November, we are holding an event to review its impact on local government across the country.

The local government sector is waiting for the Spending Review with bated breath. We anticipate that there will be much of interest to local government and the wider sector’s partners in this Spending Review. Will the Chancellor announce new devolution deals? Will he respond to requests from councils to fund the new National Living Wage? And what lies in store for social housing after Right to Buy and rent reduction?

This Spending Review will present local government with a range of new challenges and fresh opportunities. Our evening will provide in-depth analysis from expert commentators on the contents of the Review and a relaxed environment to discuss all the implications.

Confirmed Speakers include:

Cllr Peter Box, Chair, LGA Environment, Economy, Housing & Transport Board
Carl Emmerson, Deputy Director, Institute for Fiscal Studies
Simon Parker, Director, NLGN
Sonia Sodha, Chief Leader Writer, The Observer
Cllr David Finch, Leader, Essex County Council

Join us for a panel based discussion with our expert speakers followed by drinks, nibbles and an opportunity to network with speakers and peers.
