In order to review the impact of the Autumn Statement on 28th November, NLGN are holding an event to discuss its implications for local government across the country. We would be delighted if you would join us and share your thoughts.
The local government sector is waiting in anticipation of the first budget statement of Theresa May’s new cabinet. We expect that there will be much of interest to local government in this post-Brexit Autumn Statement. With Philip Hammond proposing to “reset” Britain’s economic policy, many questions remain to be answered: What impact will the new industrial strategy have? What lies in store for existing devolution deals? And how will he respond to the social care and housing crises?
This Autumn Statement will present local government with both new challenges and fresh opportunities. Our event will provide in-depth analysis from expert commentators on the Statement’s contents, and a relaxed setting in which to explore all its implications.
Confirmed Speakers include:
- David Philips, Senior Research Economist, The Institute for Fiscal Studies
- Jo Miller, Chief Executive, Doncaster Council
