It’s widely recognised that health and social care services need to be integrated. However, progress has been variable with regions such as Manchester leading the way. Many areas are being denied the benefits of integration: better outcomes for service users and patients; reduced demand and long-term savings; and improving people’s experience of health and social care. It’s crucial we take a pragmatic look at how we can tackle the barriers to integration so that every part of the country can acquire these gains.
This event will focus on practical solutions to reform. We will draw on examples of good practice and consider questions such as:
- How can we identify and overcome obstacles preventing further integration?
- What would successful practitioners approach differently with hindsight?
- Which next steps are needed to move towards effective integration?
We will hear from key stakeholders:
Chief Executive, London Borough of Sutton
Director of Adult Social Services, London Borough of Redbridge
Refreshments and a light lunch will be served, providing a great opportunity for networking with peers.
