Research Roundtable

Public Health: What does good look like? Exploring the transition into local government

In partnership with:

You are warmly invited to join us for NLGN’s research roundtable exploring the transition of public health from the NHS to local government.

Factors as varied as employment, transport, housing, and green space all affect people’s health. And over the last four years, councils have undertaken a variety of innovative work with local partners to improve public health outcomes. But challenges around skills and resources remain. This event will explore these issues and more.

The event will begin with a light lunch and a chance to network with peers.

Participants at this event will also be able to:

  • Contribute to our research and influence our final recommendations
  • Discuss your experience of the transition and learn about trends elsewhere
  • Hear about innovative practice through our in-depth case studies
  • Hear about our research findings, including results of our England-wide survey.
This event is held with the support of the Health Foundation and kindly hosted by Darlington City Council. Darlington can be reached directly by train from Birmingham, London, Newcastle, Leeds, Peterborough, and elsewhere. The event venue is a short walk from the train station.
