James Hulme is Head of Communications, responsible for media and external relations at NLGN.
Previously he was Parliamentary and Government Relations Officer at Citizens Advice, on the UK’s largest NGOs, where he was responsible for liaison with MPs, Peers and other central and local government contacts. He also implemented the organisation’s program of events at the three main party political conferences.
From 2001 – 2003, James was External Affairs Officer at the Institute for Public Policy Research, responsible for public affairs and communications. Prior to that he worked as Campaigns Officer to the disability charity consortium, emPOWER.
In 2004 he worked on behalf of the John Kerry presidential campaign in Philadelphia and has worked on a number of UK General Election campaigns.
In 2000 he graduated with a degree in politics from Leeds University.
