The event is part of an ongoing research programme in conjunction with British Gas. It will examine the potential of the new ‘Green Deal’ for supporting household energy efficiency measures due to be introduced as part of the ‘Energy Security and Green Economy Bill’. It will focus in particular on how the Bill should encompass the social housing sector, looking at issues including the role of coordinated neighbourhood energy efficiency measures, how local government can work with energy companies to implement the Green Deal and the wider policy framework.
