A series of Lunch/Dinner discussions to be held across the country for senior local government officials – hosted by NLGN, in partnership with Norse. The theme of this exclusive dinner will be the growing appetite and interest amongst councils to expand commercial activity for future financial resilience.
NLGN’s research and thought-leadership seeks both practical impact for local government and partners, and to influence national policy priorities as they relate to places and public services. Our core focus is on changemaking, a future vision for local government to generate and sustain impact in the future.
In September 2017, the Government announced an additional £2bn investment in affordable housing, and stated it will encourage councils and housing associations to build homes for social rent in parts of the country where the need is greatest. Other developments include increasing social rents to CPI (consumer price index) plus 1% for at least five years after 2020.
